Dr Kuinileti is a General Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience. She graduated from the University of Otago Medical School in Dunedin, New Zealand, and has since built an extensive career across general practice and hospital medicine in both New Zealand and Australia.

She completed her postgraduate General Practice training and Fellowship in Australia and is a Fellow of both the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She also holds a Master of Medical Science with Honours from the University of Auckland.

Of Samoan–Chinese heritage and fluent in Samoan, Dr Kuinileti brings a deep cultural understanding to her work, ensuring that her care is both clinically sound and culturally grounded. In 2023, she was recognised by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) as the Queensland GP of the year.

With more than 21 years of experience in primary health care and a strong record of senior leadership, Dr Kuinileti remains committed to delivering equitable, accessible, and high-quality care. She currently serves as the Chairwoman of the Oceania Pacific Health Association, where she continues to advocate for improved health outcomes for Pacific communities.

Dr Letava Tafuna’i is a highly experienced General Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific. She completed her undergraduate medical training in Fiji in 2000 and has since worked extensively in both hospital and general practice settings, including in Samoa, Auckland, Dunedin, Cairns, Canberra, and Wagga Wagga.

Dr Tafuna’i has a broad scope of practice and enjoys all areas of general practice, with a particular interest in chronic disease management and preventative health. She is dedicated to providing patient-centered, culturally responsive care and values building strong, ongoing relationships with her patients and their families.

She holds a Diploma in Children’s Health from the University of Sydney and a Master of Medical Science from the University of Otago. Dr Tafuna’i is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP). She is fluent in Samoan and English.

A Registered Nurse with four years of experience in urgent care, general practice, and chronic disease management, I hold a Bachelor of Nursing from Southern Cross University (2020) with certifications in CPR, IV Cannulation, and Immunisation Complex Catch-Ups. I have extensive experience leading clinical teams, mentoring staff, and ensuring high standards of patient care. Passionate about improving patient outcomes through innovative care practices, I am committed to enhancing healthcare delivery and optimising patient well-being.

Michael brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across health, social services, and information and security management in both New Zealand and Australia. He has held senior leadership and Managing Director roles within the health and community sectors, including with the Oceania Pacific Health Association (OPHA), where he supported culturally centred health programs and strengthened organisational capability.

Michael has contributed to a range of advisory groups, including health workforce and scholarship committees, supporting pathways for emerging Pacific and multicultural health professionals. His background in digital health, information governance, and operational management ensures OceansPlus Medical Centre maintains high standards of quality, safety, and clinical governance.

Known for his practical leadership style and commitment to health equity, Michael is dedicated to developing strong teams, supporting workforce development, and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace. He plays a key role in shaping OPMC’s strategic direction, enhancing patient experience, and building services that reflect the needs and values of the diverse community it serves.
